Bird's Nest Fungus

It has been raining for weeks and the soil has being wet all the time. Today, while I was deadheading some plants and cleaning the garden I saw these cute little things among the white petunias and sweet alyssums. They almost look like chocolate chips inside the reese's chocolate paper molds thingies. So, I decided to see what they were and someone on a Facebook gardening group told me they were bird's nest fungus.


Cyathus stercoreus

Since they are not harmful to the plants and I think they are cute, I decided to not kill them. They are very interesting.


 Those are not the only fungus that are growing in the garden...
